Using relational verbs to replace the verb "to be"
Purpose: This exercise gives you practice in recognizing which sentences containing the weak verb 'to be' can be replaced with relational verbs studied in this unit.
Instructions: In this exercise, you are asked to identify which
relational verb(s) can best replace the weak verb
'to be' in short texts. Note that not all of the weak verbs need to be replaced.
Choose the best alternative from the list of verbs, and then press the "CHECK" button to receive feedback on your choice.
Because the meaning of these verbs can sometimes overlap, more than one correct answer is possible in the following exercise.
